Sneeky Peek... 16/09/2011

It's been a looong few weeks my lovelies, what with meetings and performances and planning sessions, but also some rather productive weeks at that! Saturday 10th I performed at "Best of British" in Westminster, representing designer mens shoe shop; Jeffery West. Unfortunately I have no footage or photos to share with you from this event - but do now have a new found love for Scotch and Ginger Ale thanks to the copious amounts of delicious beverages on offer!

A few weeks back now, Myself and Mina Dutton worked with photographer Lee Baker on a few "snap happy" shots to start building our portfolio for the re-birth (and soon to be re-named) Dark Burlesque. The results were quite promising for an initial batch and with thanks to D'Arcy-Masters Photography for the editing and re-touch - they are looking pretty good. But you can judge for yourselves! ... here's a teaser till we gradually release the rest...

Hi Lovely people!

Hope you are all well and enjoying this poor excuse for "summer" the best us brits know how! Entertainment, friends, cocktails and giggles!

I have a few big changes to inform you all about and some exciting new ventures!...

Firstly I am moving on from "Burlesque" as we know it. Unfortunately the scene seems to be getting more and more saturated and the general feedback on a majority of "Burlesque performance" from audience, friends and fans has not been positive - the proverbial "bar of professionalism" has been lowered considerably, in turn starting to give the Art a very mis-represented image and negative view.
This is not to say in any uncertain terms that there are not some absolutely stunningly tallented performers still on the scene who show the true art form and glory of Burlesque...many of whom I know personally and are not only sucessful but fantastic people.
That said, I feel for my own personal progression as an artiste, I will be moving forward from this artform (not shunning it entirely as I still hold a deep passion for it) and concentrating more on "Performance Art and traditional Vaudevillian / Burlesque"  My training in ballet, theatre and drama are a huge part of my new style and performances.........
So that said brings us nicely onto my next few announcements - NEW ACTS!
I have made many of my routines redundant - keeping only those few wich are balletically / vaudevillian inspired and "tweaking" those said acts freshening them up and enhancing their beauty.
I have three new acts in the pipe-line (yes three!) one of which will take longer than the others to materialise onto the stage due to the new prop I am having designed and made...
WATCH THIS SPACE!******

I am also very flattered and honoured to now be the official Performance Artiste for the crittically acclaimed, super tallented "Minnies Henhouse" A live 1920's - current time, inspired band. Full line up includes vocals, piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, drums and percussion. Fronted by the sexy, sultry, sugary sweet voice of the gorgeous Mina Dutton

I will keep you up to date as and when I perform with them - VERY EXCITING!

Lastly but not at all least - save the best till last!? - DARK BURLESQUE is making a HUGE comeback -
*ALL new crew
*New acts (and some of the old - why change what's already perfect!?)

I am also very proud to persent my new business partners:
Mina Dutton
&
Sahar Freemantle

Mina:
As you will have read above Mina fronts Minnies Henhouse - but has a multitude of other skills and tallents as well as being a wonderful long time friend and business associate who I am thrilled to finally get my hands on and have partner up with me on D.B!! She is one of /if not the most/ professional and well respected promoters and artists on the scene. She has had her thumbs in more pies than one could eat in a lifetime and knows this industry inside out - invaluable to the pending future success of DB but also someone I love dearly and can work with like a breeze! Artiste, Promoter, Director, Superstar! Welcome MINA! xxx

Sahar Freemantle:
Sahar is a rediculously tallented Milliner and costume designer, with her own sucessful business: Ugly Lovely: www.UglyLovely.co.uk
Sahar is a great friend of Mina - Introduced to myself - and new friendships were born - along with a very promising and exciting new group of business partners!
Sahar has amazing insight and true artistic vision and drive. I am thrilled to now be working with such a professional and beautiful person!
Welcome SAHAR! xxx

Introductions over - and with a few more snippets to tell you -
WE WILL BE CHANGING OUR NAME!
Dark Burlesque has established itself a good name within the industry - however - we do not want to be pigeon holed with only "Burlesque" and with my progression and the artistic values and ideas of Sahar and Mina and generally a new start with a new team; we feel it is apt to change our name too... this will be happening very soon and will inform you as soon as we know - and ask that you follow us...... x

LASTLY (really lastly this time)
WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW PERFORMERS - ANY GENRE - ANY STYLE - ALL WILL BE CONSIDERED!
WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR RESIDENT PHOTOGRAPHERS, MUA'S HAIRSTYLISTS, SET/PROP DESIGNERS AND ANYONE ELSE WHO THINKS THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO OFFER - WE CANT WAIT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!

"Starring Miss Veronika Valentine"

What a stunning place Norwich is! My first visit to the exquisitely historic and very beautiful Madder Market Theatre, and I am lucky enough to be headlining the night. The welcome I received there was second to none and I must say I was overwhelmed by the flattering comments I received. A huge thank-you must be repeated to all who made that event such a pleasurable evening. I performed "La Tristesse De Pirouette" and "Feather Boudoir" (as always - leaving my "feather coated venue" calling card!) It was a pleasure to work with friends "Riding the Valkyrie" again - who, as always, gave a spanking performance!.  At long last I finally have some images to share with you all of this previously un-photographed act! - Enjoy!
My next show is the 13th March @ Tiger Tiger in Croydon..... Hope to see some of you there xx

So the video is finally here - and I must say I am pleasantly surprised - When prancing around infront of a film crew and being groped by puppets, it's not always easy to tell how the finished article will look ... I'm quite impressed but i'll leave the ultimate judgement up to you all... Big latexy hugs, Veronika x

The end of March saw me  latex clad dancing with the gorgeous yellow fluffy beast (as pictured!) Mina Dutton is one to thanks for all her hard work on and off set - and huge thanks to Ben the producer and Duggie!  The video is due for release in a matter of weeks..... so watch this space! - for now - enjoy a few exclusive on set shots xx Veronika xx

October 2010 saw another "GarterLounge" event with a fantastic line up!
I performed "Glory of a Woman" and "Venus Man Trap" to a really receptive and very aprecative, lovely audience. The venue was fantastic and the stage a spacious treat! Darkteaser was a great hostess backstage whilst Joe Black compared like the filthy geneous he is! Fabulous evening!
I Wanted to share a few of the pics with you from the very talented Rachel Spivey... Enjoy!
